A NEW GENERATION OF JACKPOT SYSTEMS
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND PLAYER FAIRNESS
There is a very important aspect of the operational design of the
system software of the new FORTUNE IMPACT SERIES of Jackpots that is
vitally important but not widely recognised and this involves the
system integrity, equal opportunities and player fairness.
Up until now all manufacturers of jackpot systems in the NZ Class 4
market have collected their turnover data from hard meter
increments. All hard meters on gaming machines increment in $1
values. In regard to the collection of Jackpot data therefore a
turnover hard meter only increments and participates in the jackpot
when the value of the combination of the bet staked and lines played
by the player exceeds $1.
This presents a significant player fairness issue for low value
players who may think that they have an equal opportunity to win the
jackpot prize and are actively participating in the jackpot every
time they push their play buttons WHEN IN ACTUAL FACT THEY ARE NOT.
For example …..if a player is playing a 1 cent machine using a
combination of 1 bet and 10 lines the total value of this play is 10
cents. The turnover hard meter will only increment in $1 values so
this player must play ten individual 10 cent games before the
turnover meter will register the cumulative $1 value of that play.
For nine of those ten plays this player IS NOT ACTIVELY
participating in the jackpot. For nine of those ten plays this
player is actually locked out of the jackpot and therefore DOES NOT
have the same equal opportunity to win a jackpot prize as other
players playing games with a turnover value that exceeds $1 in
total.
Female recreational players are a very significant and important
segment of the player base for the NZ Class 4 market.
The recreational female player plays gaming machines primarily for
entertainment. These recreational players therefore tend to play
lower value stakes so these equal opportunity and player fairness
issues have a significant negative effect onto their ability to win
any jackpot prizes and this should be a concern for gaming
operators. There is however a solution to this problem.
The operational system software of the new IMPACT SERIES of Jackpots
addresses and resolves these equal opportunity and player fairness
issues.
With the IMPACT SERIES all players irrespective of their play values
have equal opportunity at all times to win any jackpot prizes that
are available.
The new IMPACT SERIES does not use hard meter technology for the
collection of Jackpot operational data.
IMPACT SERIES Jackpot data is collected in real time using Qcom.
The use of real time Qcom data guarantees that every player is
always participating in the jackpot at all times because all play
values (large and small) are individually instantly recognised,
immediately processed and acknowledged as valid values of jackpot
play.
The IMPACT SERIES is genuinely therefore a completely new generation
of Jackpots and is the first approved jackpot in the NZ Class 4
market to deliver to players
• A jackpot system of the highest possible real time operational
integrity.
• A jackpot system that presents equal opportunities to win for all
players at all times.
• A Jackpot system with unprecedented player fairness.
The IMPACT SERIES Jackpot System has only recently been released. The IMPACT SERIES is DIA approved for operation now. The IMPACT SERIES has some exciting new prize level combinations and stunning new animation graphic software.
